Filippovskiy section is one of the most perspective sections on the Ordinkoe Deposit. It is 90 km south-west from the Region center Novosibirsk, and 12 km away from the nearest river port Kirza on the Novosibirsk reservoir. There is Novosibirsk - Kamen-na-Obi asphalt road (Altai territory) 12 km far from the Filippovskiy section. There are big railroad stations in Kamen-na-Obi and Novosibirsk. South-east border of the licensed section lies along Filippovo-Ordynskiy administrative district. Population of the region is about 40,3 thousands of people. The nearest large inhabited locality is urban settlement Ordynskoe (10, 4 thousands of people).
Detailed Field Map with the boundaries of Filippovskiy section:
Features of the Filippovskiy section
Territory of the field represents the plot of Priobskaya rolling plain with true altitude 145-210 m high, plain is divided by small watercourses of Obskiy basin. In particular this hydrosystem is presented by shallow river Orda 31,8 km long directly on the object. Its flow conditions are characterized by high water in April. Annual flow consists of snow flow (85-90%), ground flow (10%), rain flow is insignificant – only several percents.
Region is situated in south forest-steppe zone. Opened watershed areas are occupied mostly by tillage, there are several lowlands with birch and aspen groves. There are flood-lands with brakes and sparse waterlogged plots. Soil thickness is 0,3-0,5 m, environmental degeneration becomes evident on high farming plots.
Ordynskiy region’s source of raw materials is rather poor. There are several deposits, registered in balance. They are: Novopichugovskoe deposit of sand and gravel mixture with the resource of À+Â+Ñ1 categories – 32792 thousands of cubic meters, Abrashinskoe deposit of building rocks with the resource of À+Â+Ñ1 categories – 197 thousands of cubic meters, and 4 fields of brick earth with the resource of À+Â+Ñ1 categories – 4858 thousands of cubic meters and C2 category – 4753 thousands of cubic meters. Besides that there are known 8 small low-lying turfy deposits with payable area of 541 hectares and predicted peat recourses of Ð1 category – 1128 thousands of ton.
After the Ordynskoe zircon-ilmenite deposit has been discovered, region’s source of raw materials extended greatly. Ordynskoe deposit summary predicted recourses of Ð1+Ð2+Ð3 categories were evaluated on 01.01.2003 in the following way: titanium dioxide -45,4 millions of ton, zirconium dioxide - – 8,8 millions of ton, silicon dioxide (glass sand) - 1 698,6 millions of ton.
Since licensed region is not far from the settlement (Filippovka) there is no need to build extra electric main. Also, according to Ordynskiy region administration data, Filippovka will be supplied with gas in the near future. There are no protected zones in this region.
Brief description of the deposit
Ordynskiy region received geological, hydro-geological, geographical, engineering-geological and subject exploration more than once.
First of them had a cognitive character, in the 50-60s of the last century per sheet geological and geologic-hydrogeological survey took place. This survey has showed first signs of titanium and zirconium placer metal-bearing presence on this territory. However, these obvious signs didn’t attract geologists’ attention, first of all it happened because of deep deposition (>100 m) of potential ore-bearing sands. Apparently, that was the same reason why evaluation of metal-bearing sand perspective has not taken place. Since hydraulic borehole mining (HBM) technology has appeared, deep-seated deposit workings became possible. That is why industrial significance of this object needed overestimation at that time.
In this connection, in 1994-1995 evaluation of titanium and zirconium-bearing sand perspective was held. Small preliminary drilling footage (27 boreholes) discovered Ordynskoe zircon-titanium deposit, which stretched for 60 km to the north-east, had total area more than 600 square km, and lied 113-187 m beneath the surface. Later in 1996-2003 in accordance with the geological works program in Novosibirskiy region FGUP "NGPE" kept prospecting and estimation works in the Filippovskiy section of Ordynskaya zircon-titanium deposit. Preliminary estimate of object’s significance was given as a result of those works. They defined overall concept of morphology and position of bed, content of minerals and accompanying constituents. Low-capacity technical tests helped investigate rare-metal sand structure and work out its concentration process flowsheet. Tests ascertained possibility of receiving ilmenite, rutile, zircon, quartz-feldspar sand concentrates. Last one is suitable for bottle glass production. Ores, received in Filippovskiy section (from single well) by the hydraulic borehole mining (HBM), were tested, and according to the results of those examinations convenience of this technology for field development was proved. Elaboration process became dirigible; productive sand was easily eroded, concentrated and transported to the surface. By the results of prospecting and estimation works «VIMS» made technical and economic assessment about Filippovskiy section exploring advisability and calculated prospecting (makeshift) standards. Makeshift standards were confirmed by Mineral Reserves State Commission (MRSC) on the 02 of June 2004:
| Parameter | Unit | Value |
| Square of the region | km2 | 10,86 |
| Sands volume |
thousands of m3 | 43 067,6 |
| Reserves | ||
| - ilmenite | thousands of ton | 934,7 |
| - rutile | thousands of ton | 67,5 |
| - zircon | thousands of ton | 248,2 |
| - quartz-feldspar sand |
thousands of ton | 68 908,0 |
Commission recommended exploration accomplishing and caring out experimental-industrial working with the purpose to specify techno-economic characteristics of the object’s developing by hydraulic borehole mining (HBM) method.
